History

Squirrel Hill Psychological Services was launched in November of 2006. Our genesis was the counseling department of Jewish Family & Children's Service which had been providing counseling services to the Greater Pittsburgh community for more than 70 years.

1964
Gusky Child Guidance Clinic (GCGC) established.
To offer outpatient mental health services to children under the direction and responsibility of a trained child psychiatrist.
1982
Licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for Outpatient Counseling.
State monitoring of clinical services.
JF&CS establishes Domestic Violence Program with funding from Ladies Hospital Aid Society (LHAS).
To reach out to and serve victims of family violence.
2000
East Liberty Project(Early Childhood Intervention Program)
United Way of Allegheny funds a demonstrative mental health program with JF&CS in the East Liberty area of Pittsburgh.
2006
Established Squirrel Hill Psychological Services as unique division within JF&CS
Established with a unique identity to better represent services delivered in the community.
